CO-CURRICULAR & EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:


A.College Students' Council:

The Students' Council is constituted according to the Goa University Rules with the following aims and objectives : To promote all round development of the students of this college. To organize curricular and extra-curricular activities of the college. To discuss any suggestions, plans of action, resolutions, issues etc. pertaining to the general welfare of the student community of the college. The Council consists of: President: Principal of the College (Ex-officio) Teacher Advisor: A Teacher of the College nominated by the Principal General Secretary Elected by all the students in the College One each of the following categories from each class/division, as applicable: i. Class Representatives: One elected from each Class. ii. Division Representatives: One elected from each Division. iii. One Lady Student Representative from each Class: Students from all divisions of the Class will vote Elections to the Council are held not later than one month from the commencement of each academic year or within one month of the declaration of the University Results. Counting of votes is done the very day of the elections and the results are declared on the basis of simple majority vote.

B. College Gymkhana:
Sports activities are governed by a Gymkhana Committee which consists of the following : President Principal (Ex-officio) Vice-President Physical Director Teacher Advisor Nominated by the Principal General Captain To be elected from among the Captains Captains of different teams To be nominated by the Director of Physical Education The major activities of Gymkhana consist of organization of inter-class sports events, participation in various Inter-Collegiate Sports activities and organization of the Annual Athletic Meet

C. College Cultural Union:
The following are the main objectives of the Cultural Union: To inculcate in students the ideal of altruistic service and a sense of responsibility. To bring out student talents in dramatics, singing and other spheres of Fine Art. To organize enlightening talks by eminent personalities from all walks of life. To generate an interest in the folk art and traditions of the country. The Cultural Union comprises: President Principal of the College (Ex-officio). Teacher Advisor Nominated by the Principal General Secretary Elected by all the students One Student Representative elected from each Division One Lady Student Representative elected from each Class (All students will vote).

COLLEGE MAGAZINE:
Every year, we publish our annual magazine, “DAMODAR”. Its Editorial Board consists of the members of the staff and student representatives. It provides a creative outlet for our young budding poets and writers. The editorial board invites creative literary efforts such as short stories, poems and articles and even sketches by the students. Students are free to contribute in English, Hindi, Konkani and Marathi. The magazine is also a chronicle of the activities during the year and carries reports of the Convenors of various committees.

STUDENTS CONSUMER COOPERATIVE SOCIETY:
The College runs a Students’ Consumer Cooperative Society where textbooks are sold to students at concessional rates. The usual discount allowed is 10% to all students. The profit of the Society is used for the welfare of the student community of this College. Since its inception in 1974, the Society has made tremendous progress and has been applauded by press and others. Even other colleges occasionally take advantage of this Society.

NATIONAL CADET CORPS
The College has the Army, Navy and Girls Units of N.C.C. Our NCC Officers and Cadets have done remarkably well and brought laurels to the College and the NCC Directorate.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME:
Every year, about 300 students are enrolled in our N.S.S. Unit. Apart from being involved in socially useful projects, these students participate in a ten-day Special Camp, which involves community work. Living together for an extended period of time brings together students from diverse backgrounds
