Shree Damodar College accredited with B++ by NAAC Peer Team 
Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Tansor, Comba, Margao-Goa was awarded B++ by the NAAC Peer Team which came for reaccrediation to this educational institution in August 2006. The Team was headed by Dr. Abdul Rahiman. The Principal Dr. I. Bhanu Murthy provided them all the required information. Assistant Principal Dr. (Mrs) Prita Mallya presented the infrastructure and help required.

ICICI Course started in Damodar College
V.V.M's Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics and the ICICI Bank Ltd.'s Foundations of Banking Course was inaugurated on 19th July 2007 by Shri. Paulus De Lima, DGM(HR), ICICI Bank Ltd. The College and ICICI Bank Ltd. jointly signed a memorandum of understanding to conduct this course in the college.
Shri. De Lima inaugurated the 'Learning Centre' and gifted the same to the college.
In his keynote address, Shri. De Lima mentioned the need for industry -academic partnership in today's times. He said the course would make the students aware not only of 'what' and 'why' of banking but also 'how' of banking. He also mentioned the course material is suitably divided into classroom teaching modules and the e-learning modules which will enable students to learn-'need to know', 'good to know' and 'nice to know' of Banking.
Dr. I. Bhanu Murthy, Principal welcomed the guests. Shri. G. M. Daivajna, Vice -President, VVM presided over the function. Ms Shilpa Prabhudesai, Course Co-ordinator, proposed a vote of thanks.

N.C.C. ARMY and NAVAL Wing Trekking Hike Held.
N.C.C. ARMY and NAVAL Wing, Boys and Girls attended a Trekking Hike at Chandranath Hill, Quepem, on Sunday 19th August 2007. 110 Cadets along with Lt. Sanjay S. Dessai, A.N.O., N.CC Army and Sub. Lt. S. Bhat attended the same.

College Annual Hike held on 5th August 2007
The Nature Club of Shree Damodar College held its annual College Hike to Neturlim, Goa on 5th August 2007.170 students from various streams of the college participated in the event, along with 7 staff members.

Study Tour to Rajasthan/Gujarat
Students' Council is organising the Annual College Study Tour to Rajashtan & Gujarat from 23rd October 2007 to 4th November 2007. The Tour will visit places like Jaipur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Mount Abu etc.

Workshop held for BCA Teachers
A workshop on BCA Syllabus was organised on 6th July in the college premises. Various Issues regarding subject matter and syllabus were decided on this occasion. Dr. V. V. Kamat, Head, Dept. of Computer Science, Goa University and Mr. Ramrao Wagh, Lecturer, Goa University guided the participants.


Seminar on 16th & 17th March 2007 on Network Security
The BCA Dept. conducted a one-day seminar on Network Security for the Staff Members of Shree Damodar College of COmmerce & Economics, Mr. Kissan G. Dessai, HOD of BCA Dept. co-ordinated this seminar. This seminar is organised to broadly understand the web technology, the merits of e-tech and protection from viruses.
